Amar helps adults meet and talk to each other. We do not promise that you will find a match, a partner or a relationship, or that any conversation or call will lead anywhere. Suggested matches are based on the information members provide and are not a prediction of compatibility.
2 Members and Their Information
Profiles, photos, messages and other content are created by members, not by Amar. We do not check every profile and cannot guarantee that what a member tells you is true, or that a person is who they say they are.
The verified badge only shows that an automated face-match compared a short selfie video with the member’s profile photo. It does not confirm a person’s name, age, marital status, criminal record, honesty or intentions.
3 Your Safety When Meeting People
You are responsible for your own safety, online and offline. We strongly encourage you to:
- Never send money, or share bank, ID or password details, with someone you have met on Amar.
- Keep conversations on Amar until you trust the person.
- Meet first in a busy public place, tell a friend or family member where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
- Use the Block and Report tools whenever someone makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
- In an emergency, contact the South African Police Service on 10111 or 112 from a mobile phone.
4 Tokens, Calls and Availability
Token prices and per-message or per-minute rates can change and are shown in the app. Call quality depends on your device and network. We do not promise that Amar will always be available, error-free or secure from interruption, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or updates.
5 Third-Party Services and Links
Amar relies on third parties such as Google, Apple, Agora, OneSignal and Amazon Web Services, and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to what they do.
6 No Professional Advice
Anything on Amar or our website, including tips, prompts and quiz results, is for general information and entertainment only. It is not relationship counselling, legal, medical, psychological or financial advice.
7 Limits of Our Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Amar Technologies and Jaspa are not responsible for loss or harm that results from your dealings with other members, from content posted by members, or from things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in this Disclaimer removes any right you have under South African law that cannot be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, or limits liability for our own gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.
