1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Amar platform (mobile app and website), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Amar.
Amar is operated by Amar Technologies, developed by Jaspa, Johannesburg, South Africa.
2 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be legally permitted to enter into a binding agreement.
- You must not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law.
- You may only hold one active Amar account.
3 How Amar Works
- Creating a profile, browsing, liking and matching are free. There is no subscription.
- You can chat and call only with someone you have matched with (you both liked each other).
- Sending messages and making calls costs tokens, at the rates shown in the app and on our website. Rates and promotions such as Happy Hour may change.
- Verification is optional. A verified badge means a face-match check succeeded; it is not a guarantee of a person’s identity, age or character.
4 Account Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information about yourself, and only use photos of yourself.
- Keep your sign-in details secure.
- Tell us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
5 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.
- Post false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful content.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Share sexually explicit or violent content.
- Solicit money or financial information from other users, or run scams.
- Use the platform for commercial, promotional, or advertising purposes.
- Take screenshots, recordings or copies of other users’ content and share them without their permission.
- Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform.
- Use bots or automated scripts to interact with the service.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or a permanent ban.
6 Tokens & Payments
- Tokens are bought in the app through Google Play (or Apple in-app purchase on iOS). Your purchase is also subject to that store’s terms.
- Tokens are spent when you send messages and for each minute of a call, at the published rates. The person who starts a call is charged.
- Purchases are final and non-refundable except where the law (including the Consumer Protection Act) or the store’s refund rules entitle you to a refund. Contact legal@amardating.com if something went wrong.
- Tokens have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred.
- Unused tokens are forfeited when your account is deleted.
7 Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you submit (photos, bio, messages). By submitting it, you give Amar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it solely to operate the platform. We do not sell your content. See our Data Usage Policy for how your information is used.
8 Safety, Reporting & Blocking
You can block and report any member from their profile or a chat. We review reports and may remove content, suspend or ban accounts, and pass information to the authorities where the law requires or allows it. Read our Disclaimer for safety advice about meeting people in person.
9 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account & My Data) or through our Data Deletion page.
Amar may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms. When an account ends, access is removed, unused tokens are forfeited, and data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10 Disclaimers
Amar is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that any match will lead to a relationship, or the accuracy of information other users provide. Your use of Amar and your interactions with other users are at your own risk. See the full Disclaimer.
11 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Amar Technologies and Jaspa are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
12 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Amar after the change, you accept the updated Terms.
13 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Johannesburg.
